Your concern for the efficacy of litigating 2020 election fraud is very valid. But I'm not sure it follows that the witness's motivation/incentive will be lost in the event of a drug conviction; in fact, it is possible the opposite would be true (incentive to either have the drug conviction vacated entirely, or sentence mitigated). Outright dismissal of the charges could, in fact, cut against the witness's interest in further cooperation.
