I was impressed with Dobbs every time I caught him on Fox. I often wondered why he didn't have a prominent spot in their evening line up. I guess he had too much integrity for his own good. We all know what happens to people like that - cough - Tucker - cough.
I first regularly watched him on a Seattle local TV station. He was so truthful and engaging. I continued to follow him at each place he then landed. When he was summarily removed from FOX I was shocked and terribly disappointed. And have missed him. May he rest in peace and may God have him preach to the heavenly choirs for eternity. 🙏🙏
Thank you for reminding us of how awesome Lou Dobbs was, and for how long. It brought back memories of seeing him on CNN back in the 80's...he had that special quality for sure.
This was such sad news! I woke up every morning and started my day listening to Lou's podcast. He was as good as they come. He had so many wonderful guests and he never shied away from pushing back on people when he did not agree with them (respectfully, of course!). Lou was the sane voice and level head that true American patriots needed. Thank you Emerald for honoring him with the kind words, I hope you continue to follow in his footsteps! He will be missed!
Lou Dobbs is a legend. After I wrote off Fox News, Lou's program on Fox Business was the only show I continued to watch regularly (I still will catch an occasional Hannity or Ingraham show). Dobbs pulled no punches and refused to be censored. He cannot be replaced. We will all miss his voice.
So I’m 80 and continue to express myself creatively by writing. Lou and I predict you will continue until until your fingers can no longer type and your voice can no longer resonate. Before Rush Limbaugh, Lou was my freedom loving personality.
His relentless coverage of the open border crisis should have a couple Pulitzer under wraps. Pulitzer missed their chance on purpose. With his rich baritone he was a beacon for journalistic expression. And he was ever so respectful for even adversaries on his show until they played him; then he drill them another a…… with zest and left them many times gurgling and disembomulated. And rarely let friendlies run the dark one by him without retort. He rarely suffered fools. I was ecstatic when he ran for the Presidency. Is there any notables that Lou missed interviewing? Yes, he was Trump before trump! He also dodged a bullet. I could picture him going to his mailbox in the country when an immigration bullet missed him and he would turn around and flash those Colgate polished choppers of his; look around and exclaim “Ya missed me.” I am so happy that bothPrez Trump and you paid homage to him. I was looking for the right venue to respond. Many liberals in my own family happily and later begrudgingly listened to him. Lou was a man for all men. Wanted to meet you down here Lou. I’ll wait for my chance in the hereafter where you’re churning out news dailies in rarified. God bless.
Thanks for a great homage to a stand up guy. Lou was great, never wavered and was always as based as could be. To read Emeralds tribute to him is the equivalent of watching a chef cook a gourmet meal.
thank you Emerald, you're always a storm of truth, logic and rationality.
07/23/24: Lou "was a constant presence there until 1999 — when he clashed with CNN head honcho Rick Kaplan..."
Rick Kaplan never became well known, but none the less, he gets my vote for Biggest Sh*T in The American Media in the past forty years. A pure thug who fit right in with the media mafias stupid enough to hire him.
At CNN, he managed to break all the china in the shop. After that, on the loose, he kept popping up like OJ ("I'm hot on the trail of the Real Killer!").
His last major role of any sort of relevance was to play Fireman Ed at a blazing dumpster fire --- the end of Katie Couric's bogus existence in Network News, when he was signed up to try to improve her dismal CBS Evening "News" ratings.
Didn't work. Couric's predecessor --- who was a temp! --- got decent ratings, which Couric herself never topped despite being paid a King's Ransom.
Her one achievement was to demand that a new ladies room be built within the huge and dirty CBS building on 57th Street.
Her wish was CBS's command: Voilà! It was built.
The Katie Couric Memorial Ladies Lounge & Hookah Hangout (a/k/a, the Sister Toilet Emporium to the "Jim McGreevey Travel Plaza" on I-95, better known today as the Lombardi Travel Plaza).
Back to Kaplan. I think he's doing PR for the Houthis these days. Who knows? Maybe he's a weekend washroom attendant at CBS.
Rock bottom is not unimaginable: Will he be named as an "Assistant Senior (Junior) Deputy Media Advisor" to the Re-Elect President Harris Committee?
Thank you. I stick to the facts, although I might slip up from time to time.
Corrections are made and gratefully acknowledged (you should have seen the amusing fiasco when I got the two Allison Williams mixed up! Sadly, it motivated both of them to abandon their grifter careers and join monasteries in rural France).
The thing is, with The Gruesomes (people like Rick Kaplan), not a scintilla of exaggeration is necessary.

Well done Emerald. We will all miss Lou, a true hero, patriot, and American!
Lou Dobbs was a legend. He will be missed.🙏
I was very glad to stand a post while People like you and Lou told the truth. God needed him upstairs.
Thank you for reminding us of how awesome Lou Dobbs was, and for how long. It brought back memories of seeing him on CNN back in the 80's...he had that special quality for sure.
Great article. I wasn't aware of the extent of his legacy. Hoping to hear what you're sources are telling you about the attempted assassination.

Isn,'t Wolfpack a left wing lobbyist 501(c)3?

What a great man!! Thank you for the kind words and most of all for continuing his legacy!!
Thank you for sharing. A great tribute to a great truth teller.
Does anyone know who/what took him down?

Another born leader no longer in our midst. May Lou Dobbs rest in peace. Thank you, Emerald for another great report!

R.I.P., Lou. You were great.
if your post is as factual as it is funny, I'm gonna enjoy following you.
Thank you. I stick to the facts, although I might slip up from time to time.

More Allison Williamses!
We need more of them....I never heard of either of them.
If you've never heard of either of them, you're on the highway of good mental health.
