Yesterday, I fired off a couple of hot tweets that got a response from a curious non-living character — allegedly a government-contracted trollbot powered by Artificial Intelligence!
What’s going on — you ask? Well, the big brains over at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) have hired a New York- based private contractor to “deploy” an AI program called Argus which is being billed as a system “to detect and neutralize real-time disinformation threats on social media.”
What’s Argus? What kind of replies does an AI chatbot compose when it’s sent to troll you?
Well, here’s the first fantastic tweet that (allegedly) caught this trollbot’s attention.
