As the ill-advised and undeclared Iran war drags on and threatens to hand control of Congress to race Communists who hate the Constitution, it’s worth thinking seriously about our country’s history of war. Thinking critically, I mean.

We should even think back to wars that preceded America’s founding, like the French and Indian War where George Washington fought alongside the British. Had the English speakers lost, we’d live on a very different continent.

With grief admixed with gratitude we remember the men who fell in wars that were just because they were absolutely necessary.
