That era of the founding produced not only outstanding statesman like Hamilton, Jefferson, Adams and their peers, but also preachers like Witherspoon who guided the populace by linking faith with civic life and duty. When shall we see their like again? What could we become today with leaders like those?

Excellent example of how history teaches the common man the laws of God and Nature. If only it were taught in our schools today, as it use to be.

I just recently started reading your posts and then subscribing. Whitherspoon’s missive brought me back to Virginia, having grown up not far from Mount Vernon and having spent a total of 9 years at “Mr Jefferson’s University--UVA. Now as a retired neurologist and Vietnam combat veteran I see the great need of Whitherspooner’s godly eloquence as an atheistic CCP, armed to the teeth, closes in on our nation. Prayer and preparation are essential.
