When shall we see their like again? What could we become today with leaders like those?
I just recently started reading your posts and then subscribing. Whitherspoon’s missive brought me back to Virginia, having grown up not far from Mount Vernon and having spent a total of 9 years at “Mr Jefferson’s University--UVA. Now as a retired neurologist and Vietnam combat veteran I see the great need of Whitherspooner’s godly eloquence as an atheistic CCP, armed to the teeth, closes in on our nation. Prayer and preparation are essential.
saying of Solomon, “The borrower is servant to the lender.” But the frugal and moderate person, who guides his affairs with discretion, is able to assist in public counsels by a free and unbiassed judgment, to supply the wants of his poor brethren, and sometimes, by his estate and substance to give important aid to a sinking country.
