For those of us, Young and Older, growing up in the Midwest, "Christmas Story"hits a vein! Might be different for everyone else, but "fly over country" was where it happened at Christmas time. We reminisce. Just watch and see if I am wrong. Right Ralphie?

Ralphie obsession over the Red Rider BB Rifle is epic. ... and of course, the leg lamp.

Hey, I love Die Hard, and I consider it a great Christmas movie. (Not all of us women like those shallow Hallmark movies!) And, I love It’s a Wonderful Life (but I love almost all of the so-called “Capra corn” movies. It’s all about seeing the good guy win!

As a fallen away Catholic, I was surprised at the blatant globalism amd Marxism of Francis. He was not alone in the destruction of a previously solid conservative consistant religion. We see that same kinds of things in the ranks of the Jesuits. Politics have covered the Earth. Love "Die Hard".

Merry Christmas, Emerald and to my fellow Emerald Readers! I’ll give Die Hard a watch - but not before It’s A Wonderful Life!

Stopped watching Hallmark after it went woke a few years ago. I may watch an older Hallmark movie if it comes on. Die Hard is a Christmas movie. But I also like Casablanca this time of year as well. And Ralphie? Well, at least he didn’t try to lick that metal pole! 😂

Remember the Crusades? As a Catholic, the Church has lost its way. Jesus is coming back, and he is bringing his lawyers. Also, Christmas Story, Trading Places and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer all great Christmas movies.

Excellent piece.

I often note among friends, BTW, that the sword (“sell your cloak and buy one”) was the most common weapon of the day. Were that verse (and “gird on your sword and follow me”) written today, we’d be selling our cloaks and buying & girding on our AR15s…

If one is not willing to use violence to defend one’s culture & country, what good is he or she?

Substack won't let me restack...hhmmm. Yes, men moving with a violence of action is important to view- lest everyone forgets what it is supposed to look like!

Ahh Hallmark whatever: Seems like it's always on. I think this is where Hollywood trains their upcoming actors. Some need real work! Real gagger; wife loves it!
