You Have No Idea What's Happening In Israel
Before America gets dragged into another Middle East war, let's ask some questions first

Before Americans send their sons and daughters off to the Middle East to fight yet another conflict (Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria….) while the drums of war begin to beat on our televisions incessantly — there are a few pertinent questions that should be asked, and a few facts that should be considered.
We all agree that Hamas is a terrorist group that has targeted civilians for murder and kidnapping, which raises a disturbing question: why did the state of Israel help to create and fund Hamas for so long?
That’s a crazy conspiracy theory — right?
It’s simply not possible that a senior Israeli official admitted to the Wall Street Journal in 2009 that his own government had backed the Muslim terror group currently killing its own citizens — is it?
Surveying the wreckage of a neighbor's bungalow hit by a Palestinian rocket, retired Israeli official Avner Cohen traces the missile's trajectory back to an "enormous, stupid mistake" made 30 years ago.
"Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant group that is sworn to Israel's destruction.
Instead of trying to curb Gaza's Islamists from the outset, says Mr. Cohen, Israel for years tolerated and, in some cases, encouraged them as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the Palestine Liberation Organization and its dominant faction, Yasser Arafat's Fatah. Israel cooperated with a crippled, half-blind cleric named Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, even as he was laying the foundations for what would become Hamas.
You’re not likely to see a corporate media outlet in the United States ever mention Avner Cohen’s extraordinary admission but that’s just the point: you have no idea what’s really going on over there, and nobody has any interest in improving your total ignorance.
Well, not everyone — Patrick Byrne, at least, was one of the few people willing to discuss uncomfortable truths and inconvenient facts today. In a short video released on Twitter/X, Byrne told his followers that “the real blame for this intelligence catastrophe should be placed with the machinations of the Biden Regime, and in particular, SoS Anthony Blinken, DNI Avril Haines, and Dan Shapiro.”
Now that makes a lot of sense. After all, the Biden-Obama regime gave Iran $6 billion for no apparent reason just weeks before the surprise attack.
Before that, the regime had placed an Iranian woman high up in the Pentagon — and she was busy communicating with Iran’s foreign ministry.
Then it hired an Iranian spy as America’s envoy to Iran.
Once the war actually started in Israel, the Biden-Obama regime threw a BBQ party at the White House.
But you still think this regime was “surprised” by the attack on Israel?
Meanwhile, President Trump dropped a verbal bomb at a rally in Florida by claiming that Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu initially agreed to help the United States destroy Iran’s Revolutionary Guard commander Qasem Soleimani — only to pull out of the military operation at the last minute.
I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was a very terrible thing. They’re [Israel] fighting potentially Iran… We were disappointed by that — but we did the job ourselves. And then Bibi tried to take credit for it.
So, let’s begin with some humility — rather than righteous certainty — for a change.
You have no idea what’s going on over there.
You are not being informed by America’s corporate media — you are being manipulated by our corporate media into supporting another war in the Middle East.
The illegal Biden regime was under investigation on all fronts, and several of its key officials were headed for impeachment by Congress just before this war started.
This attack from Hamas is very convenient for the Biden-Obama regime, don’t you think?
And have you noticed how many American politicians believe that Israel has the right to defend its borders — while those same politicians allow a flood of illegal aliens to invade America?
You have no idea what’s going on over there.
I Need Your Help!
I was banned from Twitter in 2021 since I warned you about the dangerous COVID vaccines. Then left-wing hate groups targeted me in Washington Post articles to keep me off social media altogether. Now voting machine cabal Smartmatic wants to search through my emails and telephone records.
It’s very expensive to prepare for litigation, and discovery, in these massive lawsuits brought by the voting machine companies. (Fox News paid out almost $800 million just last year.) They try to bankrupt and silence conservative journalists by dragging them through court proceedings for years.
Independent and fearless journalists need your support like never before.
I need your support like never before.
If we are going to survive the current regime then we must stand together.
I’ve got your back. Do you have mine?
You knocked it out of the park, Emerald, per usual.
Bull in a China shop style writing. One example. Here's a quote from the 2009 WSJ article Emerald centers here case upon: "When it became clear in the early 1990s that Gaza's Islamists had mutated from a religious group into a fighting force aimed at Israel -- particularly after they turned to suicide bombings in 1994 -- Israel cracked down with ferocious force." I.e., some actors working for Israeli intelligence and diplomacy arguably did "help" this group--how much is difficult to say--in its earliest stages, but that has not been the policy for, er, well, 29 years now. Emerald juices that into "why did the state of Israel help to create and fund Hamas for so long?"
I agree with the spirit of "let's be careful in this moment of moral outrage," present in this. Over at Powerline, you can find me in the comments vigorously defending Tucker and Vivek against Scott Johnson's unfair attack against them for taking a similar stand.
But far greater care is needed on this. Here we have a moment where elements of the Left and Center are finally returning to sanity on one issue, and where the knives are out for those who took the wrong stand on Israel for years. Much hypocrisy in that, but some good is possible from it also.
And of course those of us focused on the Covid/Vax Disaster, or on Biden's criminality, can only wince when up against the way this war is likely to hamper our efforts to draw attention to those stories. But we have to learn to swim in the waters we're in. I am noticing bad signs that conservatives alive to the Disaster are being tempted by conspiratorial-type theories of why this attack happened now. Pieces like this, when written in this way, do not help. Let's not charge in and unnecessarily step on a lot of knives, and confuse a lot of people who might, at bottom, be found to be more open to our take in the wake of Hamas' massacres, than before.
