He has never advocated regime change (and vetoed a strike on Khomeini (sp?)), and has been adamant - and consistent - that his SOLE goal is preventing Iran from gaining a nuclear weapon. But if you want Peace through Strength (as opposed to appeasement), you sometimes have to exercise your strength.
Neither Russia nor China want a nuclear-armed Iran. Besides, both are kinda busy right now (China's economy is tanking and they have eyes on Taiwan, not stirring up a war with the US over a nuclear-armed Iran that could threaten their oil purchases; you know about Russia).
