It proves BARD that WWII was Stalin’s plan from the start, a plan with an end result of all Western Europe under the hammer & sickle. Stalin’s plan was to hit Germany about Spring of 1942. Initially Stalin had planned it later, betting a war between Germany & France & Britain would be a WW I retread but Hitler upset all this by crushing France in six weeks & kicking Britain out of Europe four times. Hitler beat him to the punch on June 22, 1941. The Soviets would lose 3.5 million men in as many months & that’s the end result of having the Red Army all buttressed up against the Western borders when the three German Army Groups struck.
Author Joachim Hoffman was the top Military Historian for the Bundeswehr & this epic & exhaustive work received Federal German Govt endorsement which is a very tough thing to get. As you might expect ANYTHING casting even a glint of a positive shade on The Third Reich is anathema. It was thanks to the Soviet collapse that Hoffman was able to do his research & - as usual - he mentions the arrows fired @ him in the Forward from the usual leftist suspects.
