Powerful influential people behind the scenes really do own and run our politicians and basically own them. We don't like to believe that so many people can be so thoroughly corrupt, but that is the truth of it. It took a long time for the powerful to completely infiltrate governments and other institutions at all levels, but they've almost got them all. For example, no politician is "allowed" to run for office, let alone to win, without bending the knee to AIPAC, not even Trump. No politician would ever be allowed to win if he/she campaigned on shutting down the Fed, even though that is one of the single most important actions we need desperately to take. I could ramble on, but my real point is that we cannot work inside this corrupt system to fix this corrupt system.
