Frankly, I like the zings. That said, I still long for the days when twitter becomes irrelevant to public discussions. Given the headlines generated whenever someone prominent (or not) is censored or removed from twitter, it's apparent that twitter is reigning supreme when it comes to controlling the conversation. That should not be.
oh Gawd Mike Barnicle! forgot all about that bunghole. Haven't seen him since he and Doris Kearns Goodwin were spinning inane yarns on the Imus in the Morning Show. He used to write puff pieces about Whitey Bulger handing out turkeys on Thanksgiving in South Boston for the Boston Globe. Plagiarizing was his bread and butter for decades and everyone (especially his employer) knew it.
The "Savage Queen" of Twitter from 2020 may be in an entirely different universe in 2023.
I am reminded of a Confederate Calvary unit travelling unopposed through Gettysburg in late 1864, just a little over a year after the 3 day battle there in July of 1863.
It didn't matter anymore, it was irrelevant, no one cared, the war had "Moved On" and would be over in less than 6 months. Visiting old battlefields don't neccesarily win future wars.
What this portends for 2023 is beyond my comprehension. i wish us all well.
