The GOP Keeps Playing Russian Roulette
Would GOP House members accept bribes to hand over control to Democrats before November?

Now that Thomas Massie has joined Marjorie Taylor Greeen in calling for Mike Johnson to be pushed out, pressure has been mounting on GOP politicians to explain their position on defending the new House Speaker.
So Rep. Matt Gaetz joined Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and Rep. Andy Ogles to explain why ousting Speaker Johnson was a perilous move.
What was the danger?
According to Gaetz and Luna, the ultimate danger is that “there could be one or two or three of my colleagues who will take a bribe, in one form of another, in order to deprive the Republicans of a majority at all.”
That would mean: a Democrat Speaker would take power before the 2024 election.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna agreed with Gaetz, and warned further: if a motion to vacate is introduced then “moderate” Republican Congressmen would resign their seats to allow Democrats to take the majority in the House.
This is an extraordinary admission by GOP politicians.
They’re telling you there’s no party discipline. They’re telling you the GOP would prefer to hand power over to the Democrats — especially if it helps to stop Trump from winning in November
They’re telling you: the GOP doesn’t really exist.
How did we get here?
After all, we’ve now got sitting GOP representatives climbing onto CNN to denounce their GOP colleagues as Ku Klux Klan members.
This state of affairs will not surprise my Substack readers — since I’ve explained the ideological collapse of the GOP for the last three years in detail.

It’s an impossible situation that Gaetz and Luna and the rest of the GOP’s conservative wing now find themselves explaining to their angry constituents: Speaker Johnson cannot be replaced because it will lead to a Democrat Speaker — even though Speaker Johnson is already (for all intents and purposes) a Democrat Speaker.
So their plea for keeping Mike Johnson in place is based on their belief that Johnson will betray every principle and promise that he made to the GOP in order to become Speaker but he won’t help Democrats so much that he would try to pass the Democrat bill to disqualify Donald Trump from holding office again.
My question is simple: how do they know that Johnson won’t do that too?
Let’s hope their confidence in Johnson is based on more than wishful thinking.
Regardless, the message being sent to Republican voters is ominous: the GOP can’t be bothered to hold power, or to enact its voters’ policy preferences, and if you push it too far the GOP is happy to betray you and hand the country over to Hakeem Jeffries.
Why would anyone vote for such a party?

MAGA America First populous is exposing and flushing out RINO’s. There are only two parties now, America First and Anti-American Globalists. These RINO’s talk the talk but do not walk the walk. These Globalists will pull out all the stops to keep MAGA Trump from returning to office.
In fairness, there isn't really a Democrat party, either - in the sense that a "party" is defined by a political entity with an identifiable policy platform. The Dems are simply a coalition/conspiracy of special interests who hang together in order to achieve their own particular ends. The fact that adhering to the "party-line" advances a core Marxist agenda is insignificant compared to their individual greed.
So, the Dems stick together to advance individual greed - which is satisfied by there being a strong Deep State doling out the goodies. In general, the GOP is supposed to be about individuals being free to advance themselves to the general benefit of all. But human avarice gets in the way for people like Liz Cheney, etc - and in the end, they sell out, too.
